The Totally Tomatoes Collection is a hand-picked assortment of five standout tomato varieties—Strawberry Cherry, Tomato Mix, Coyote Yellow, Best of All, and Principe Borghese. Whether you crave sweet snacking cherries, vibrant yellow fruits, reliable slicing tomatoes, or rich paste types for sauces and drying, this collection delivers garden-to-table versatility and flavour.

Where Can You Grow
Tomatoes thrive in full sun and well-drained soil. Grow them in raised beds, containers, or in-ground gardens. Provide consistent moisture and support (cages or stakes) for bountiful harvests.

History and Historical Uses

  • Strawberry Cherry: Beloved for its exceptionally sweet, large cherry fruits—perfect for snacking.

  • Tomato Mix: A colourful blend of red, orange, yellow, and striped heirlooms for salads and garnishes.

  • Coyote Yellow: An heirloom yellow plum tomato prized for slicing and attractive gold colour.

  • Best of All: A robust slicer known for uniform shape, disease resistance, and dependable yields.

  • Principe Borghese: A classic Italian paste tomato ideal for drying and rich sauces.

Canadian Zone Information

Zones 2–9: Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before last spring frost. Transplant outdoors after soil warms and danger of frost has passed.

How to Grow and Harvest

  • Sowing: Sow ¼ in deep in seed trays; keep at 20–25 °C for germination in 5–10 days.

  • Spacing: Transplant seedlings 18–24 in apart, with 36 in between rows.

  • Support: Use cages or stakes; prune suckers for indeterminate types.

  • Harvest: Pick when fruits are fully coloured and slightly firm to the touch.

Seed Saving Tips for Future Supply

  • Isolation: Space varieties at least 10 ft apart to prevent cross-pollination.

  • Fermentation: Scoop seeds into jar, cover with water, ferment 2–4 days, then rinse.

  • Drying & Storage: Spread on paper to dry completely; store in airtight containers in a cool, dark place.
