Mika’s Headache Blend is a thoughtfully curated mix of medicinal herbs traditionally used to ease tension and relieve headaches. This seed mix includes a range of growth habits—perennials like yarrow, lemon balm, and valerian; biennials such as feverfew and catnip; and annuals like chamomile and mullein—ensuring both quick returns and long-term yields. These herbs are easy to start from seed and thrive in a variety of growing conditions, making this blend perfect for herbalists and home gardeners alike.

Where Can You Grow Mika's Headache Blend?
These herbs are well-suited to Zones 3–9. They thrive in full sun to partial shade, in well-drained soil. Grow in garden beds or large containers to enjoy a diverse medicinal garden throughout the growing season.

History and Historical Uses
Herbs like chamomile, yarrow, and lemon balm have been used for centuries in European and Indigenous traditions for their calming and anti-inflammatory effects. Valerian and feverfew are known for their use in treating migraines and tension headaches. This blend brings together time-tested herbal allies to support well-being naturally.

Canadian Zone Information
Zones 8-9: Sow directly outdoors in early spring or start indoors 6–8 weeks before last frost.
Zones 5-7: Start indoors in early spring and transplant out after the last frost.
Zones 3-4: Start indoors and harden off before transplanting. Mulch perennials in winter for added protection.

How to Grow and Harvest Mika's Headache Blend

Planting: Sow fine seeds together on the surface of moist, sterile seed-starting soil. Press in lightly but do not cover. Prick out individual seedlings when they have at least two sets of true leaves.
Watering: Keep soil evenly moist until established.
Harvesting: Pick leaves and flowers for teas or drying when plants are young and vibrant.
Maintenance: Cut back spent flowers to encourage regrowth; divide perennial roots every few years.

Seed Saving Tips for Future Supply

Let Some Plants Flower: Allow select plants to bloom and go to seed.
Harvest Seeds: Collect seeds when pods or flower heads are dry and brown.
Clean and Dry: Remove chaff and spread seeds to dry fully.
Storage: Store in paper envelopes or airtight containers in a cool, dark place. Viable for 2–4 years depending on the species.
